In the historical centre we find The Rossini Theatre and the Rossini’s birthplace.
The famous musician was born here in 1792 and today the building is a museum which houses collections of prints and portraits.
The state music school, The Conservatorio di Musica “G. Rossini” is today recognized as having University Status and can boast a prestigious historical curriculum and is among the oldest conservatories in Italy (courses were begun in 1882).
Among his directors we should quote Pietro Mascagni and Riccardo Zandonai.
