In the historical centre we find The Rossini Theatre and the Rossini’s birthplace.

The famous musician was born here in 1792 and today the building is a museum which houses collections of prints and portraits.

The state music school, The Conservatorio di Musica “G. Rossini” is today recognized as having University Status and can boast a prestigious historical curriculum and is among the oldest conservatories in Italy (courses were begun in 1882).

Among his directors we should quote Pietro Mascagni and Riccardo Zandonai.

The town of Pesaro has important historic and artistic heritage: libraries, museums, theatres, churches and noble Villas, but also new cultural centres like Centro Arti Visive Pescheria and the San Giovanni multi-medial library
